Artisans weave an all over pattern down the middle of each runner.  Runners are  handcrafted by utilizing the one of the simplest of looms, the backstrap loom consists of a series of  wooden bars where the wraps of thread are stretched. One end of the loom is attached to a fixed object while the other to the weaver's lower back. Each item is crafted individually; slight variation in color, symbology and length will occur.
