Hand made in Michoacan, Mexico, these clay are decorative 'Tzompantlis' are mostly made during the months leading up to Day of the Dead. Tzompantlis refer to the display of rows of skulls during Mesoamerican times while marigolds as a direct representation of the traditional orange flowers that adorn altars and the streets of cities and towns in Mexico during Dia de Muerto. Skulls and flowers are placed on displayed on a tree of life clay stand alone piece.
